Coop Design

Coop Design!

In the eyes of MARSTON design studio, our first client was the MARSTON chickens and there Coop.  This is when MARSTON design studio emerged and we were developing our business strategies to move forward as a design firm.  We used the latest 3-D technology to design the MARSTON coop and were able to save time and money for the client, which was myself.  We were able to use natural day lighting and even create a lanai for the chickens to escape the Georgia heat and the rain.  Comfort and relaxation was our main goal for our clients and we were successful.

MARSTON design studio gives attention to detail no matter what size the project maybe,  because quality of design is our main goal and we always strive to keep our clients and chickens happy.  A happy chicken makes a happy home.

MARSTON design studio - The beginning

MARSTON design studio - The beginning

Every Company starts somewhere.  MARSTON design studio has been in existence since September 2008.  We started with small house renovations and designs and also contracted with local contractors to help in 3-D design.  As with a lot of Designers in today's market we slowed down and we took some contract work to stay afloat, and MARSTON design studio was put on hold.  Until one day we had a dream, a dream about Chickens.  I know you think that we are crazy, but it was a new starting point for MARSTON design studio.  It was a sign of birth and rejuvenation and we jumped in head first.

I ran down the stairs as fast as I could to tell my wife that I was designing a Chicken Coop and we were getting Chickens.   She looked at me with half opened eyes and a cup of coffee in her hand and said "yeah sure".  To me this was a sign to move forward, and when I get something in my head there is no stopping me.  I raced to my computer and started researching coop designs and space requirements.  I did hours of research on how to design an efficient, economical, and most spatially friendly environment for our chickens.  The design had begun and the MARSTON Coop was in Schematic Design.  The next phase is to put the sketches into 3D.

In the eyes of MARSTON design studio, this was our first client, because our company would change everything from this point forward.

The architectural philosophy of MARSTON design studio integrates creative vision, natural influences, and visual impact to develop a cutting edge approach to design.  While we create unique architectural solutions for each project, our basic principles remain flexibility, sensibility and sustainability for a new world.  Ultimate harmony in design begins by integrating architecture and natural beauty into one cohesive vision.

Green Building Design (LEED)
What started as a community movement toward a better environment has grown considerably greener as companies experience the proven benefits of modern green design.  To assist clients with developing and implementing the best strategy to meet environmental and building goals, MARSTON design studio combines experience and custom design to achieve sustainable success.
We have LEED-accredited professionals to help you with your green building design projects.

Building Information Modeling (BIM)
MARSTON design studio uses Building Information Modeling (BIM) to provide our clients with greater value, increased productivity and minimized waste on design projects.  BIM provides measurably more value for clients by the use of 3-D technology to enhance project delivery.  We strive to skillfully use and improve the application of technology to achieve better value and savings. Experience has proven that it is the combination of technology and creative vision that yields the greatest returns.

Time and Cost Estimates (4-D, 5-D)
We have adopted the use of BIM and Revit for advanced building design which gives us both time   (4-D) and cost (5-D) estimate capabilities.  These technological capabilities allow us to generate cost and schedule forecasts for decision-support, making it easier for us to meet our client's design schedule and cost expectations.

This technology provides accurate material quantities for more accurate cost estimates.  Overall, this allows for more efficient construction development and time estimates of any project.  Using this technology helps us to prepare realistic solutions that fit our client's needs as well as their budget.

Qigong Spatial Orientation (QSO)
This system orients objects and spaces to create a pleasing and natural energy flow that supports you within the context of that space.  While architecture is concerned with structure, function, and visual impact, QSO takes into consideration the conscious and unconscious associations you may have with your surroundings.  This philosophy looks at development and design as a living energy. This living energy is what makes your space more than just a building or home.  This energy makes your space a reflection of you, profoundly affecting the way you think about yourself and the world.
